Les penyes esportives són agrupacions de seguidors i seguidores d'un club esportiu, els i les quals disposen d'avantatges i descomptes per a aquell equip i representació oficial del club.
El Futbol Club Barcelona, a data de gener del 2009, disposava de 1.054 penyes oficials barcelonistes:
- Països Catalans: 592 penyes
- Resta de l'Estat Espanyol: 567 penyes
- Resta del món: 65 penyes
- Europa: Gran Bretanya (4), Holanda (1), Bèlgica (1), França (5), Alemanya (2), Suïssa (6), Portugal(1), Noruega (1), Suècia (2), Finlàndia (1), Itàlia (1), Hongria (1), Malta (1), Polònia (1), Rússia (1), Jordània(1), Kosovo (1), Turquia (1), Grècia (1), Xipre (1) i Israel (1).
- Àsia: Japó (2), Xina (2) i Índia (1).
- Àfrica: Marroc (4), Mali (1), Senegal (1) i Camerún (1).
- Amèrica: Estats Units(1), Canadà (1), Cuba (1), República Dominicana (1), El Salvador (1), Panamà (1), Costa Rica (1), Perú (2), Brasil (1), Veneçuela (2), Argentina (1), i Xile (1).
- Oceania: Austràlia (1) i Nova Caledònia (França) (1).
Cal afegir que Japó, tot i només tenir 2 penyes barcelonistes, és el segon país amb més socis del Barça després d'Espanya.

Mon pare va anar a Albània (el segon país més pobre d'Europa) i hi havia un bar a Tirana (la capital) completament decorat del Barça. El seu propietari era un forofor del F. C. Barcelona; tot i això, no hi ha cap penya barcelonista a Albània...

Actualment el FC Barcelona compta amb 1.330 penyes actives que compleixen cens i normativa. Són 217 les penyes que no ho fan i que, per tant, s’han donat de baixa.

1.054 penyes oficials són moltes! I de segur que hi ha més, encara que no siguin oficials! El cas, es que són moltíssimes, i a mi m'encanta el barça!! No m'extranya que el Barça tingui tant d'éxit si es tan bó com sempre!
