Els cangurs són els únics animals grans que es desplacen fent salts. El salts, que els fan impulsant-se amb les dues cames a la vegada, són un mètode de locomoció ràpid i econòmic.
La velocitat del desplaçament comfortable d'un cangur vermell és d'uns 20-25 km/h, però pot arribar als 70 km/h en distàncies curtes. Els cangurs grisos són capaços de fer salts de 3 metres d'alt i 13'5 de llarg.
Degut a la llargada dels ses peus, el cangur no pot caminar correctament i per a desplaçar-se a velocitats baixes utilitza la seva cua com a trípode; així pot moure els seus peus una passa cap endavant.

Idiota, tens tota la raó: hi ha moltes curiositats que són molt curtes i tenen molt poca informació. Estem planejant una mataró de corregir totes aquestes curiositats i ampliar-ne la informació i, fins i tot, esborrant-ne aquelles que no siguin certes o estiguin poc justificades.
Com pots veure, ja he ampliat la informació de la curiositat i n'he canviat lleugerament el tema. Ara tracta sobre els salts dels cangurs en general.
